Carlton Ahrens and Ford Gunter
Videography
Carlton Ahrens and Ford Gunter first collaborated in film in 1990, in 7th Grade drama class. So 18 years after their first collaboration they returned to film in 2008, writing, directing and producing a series of politically charged, satirical shorts that swung the presidential election decidedly away from Fred Thompson. (“We value him too much as an actor,” Ford says. “And we gotta keep him free for the ‘Fletch’ remake.”). A year later, they got even more serious and formed an LLC. That summer they began rolling tape on Art Car: The Movie, a documentary about art cars in Houston and around the world. The subject appealed to both for a number of reasons, including the visionary talents of scores of local artists and thousands more around the world who devote their lives, their money andtheir passion to a pursuit that often brings joy and nothing else in return. They both feel very strongly that you should see their movie. They think it’s quite good.
